Creating and Managing Approval Groups

A guide on how to create and manage Approval Groups in Denim Social.

Denim Social Approval Groups help Admins empower insurance agents, LOs, and intermediaries to build their own foundation for social selling while staying compliant. When a post is routed through the Approval Group, an email will be sent to the moderators of that group to review the post.

Creating an Approval Group

In Denim Social, click on the Administration tab and then click Approval Groups. This will take you to the Approval Groups page. Click "Create Approval Group" on the top right hand corner.

On the "Create Approval Group" page, add the name and Description of the Approval Group you want to create. Next, choose the moderators for this Approval Group. Admins and Users can be moderators in Approval Groups. If someone submits a post through an Approval Group where they are moderators, their Approval is automatically applied. You have the option to require approval from all users that you have selected as moderators.

When selecting to require approval from all users, posts routed through that Approval Workflow will remain in Pending Approval status until all moderators have approved the post.

If you select the box for "Set as default approval group for all posts" all posts will take this route automatically unless a different Approval Group is selected in the Compose Page.

Because Approval Groups can be selected on the Compose page, be sure your users know which Approval Group should be selected for their post.

Posts containing Keywords will automatically be routed through the Default Approval Group, no matter which approval group is selected. Check out our Keyword Help Center article for more details.

FYI - Only one Approval Group can be your Default Approval Group. Selecting this setting on a new Approval Group will remove the Default setting in the previous Default Approval Group.


Modifying an Approval Group

In Denim Social, click on the Administration tab and then click Approval Groups. This will take you to the Approval Groups page. Click on the Edit button to the left of the Approval Group you want to edit.

On the "Edit Approval Group" page, you can change the name or description, add or remove moderators, and modify the setting to require approval from all users or make this Approval Group a Default Approval Group. To remove the Default setting on an Approval Group, you must select the Default setting in a different group. There must be a selected Default approval group at all times.


Once you had modified the Approval Group, click "Save."

If there are posts pending approval for the Approval Group you are modifying, those posts will keep the previous Approval Group settings until they are approved or denied.

You can also Duplicate and Remove Approval Groups on the "Approval Groups" page using the Action buttons to the right of each Approval Group. Removing an Approval Group will permanently delete that Approval Group.
