Please follow each step in this guide to ensure that your page connects to Denim Social properly:
Troubleshooting - Why is my Instagram Account "Inactive?"
Ensure Instagram page is a Professional-Business Account
Only Professional-Business accounts are compatible with Denim Social. Check out Instagram's help article for more information on how to switch into a professional page.
If you have an existing Instagram account that you want to keep personal, you can create a new account and switch seamlessly between the two on Instagram. Here's Instagram's help center article on how to Add and Switch Between Multiple Accounts for step by step instructions.
After you've confirmed that your page is set up correctly on Instagram, please ensure it is connected to your Facebook Business Page.
2. Connecting your Instagram to your Facebook Business Page
Once you have a Professional Instagram account set up, you must connect it to your Facebook business page to post through Denim Social. Check out Facebook's article "Add or remove an Instagram account from your Page" for instructions on how to connect your Instagram to a Classic or New Experiences Facebook business page. 3. Connecting your Instagram to Denim Social
Now that your Instagram is a Professional-Business account and is connected to your Facebook Business Page, you can connect the account to Denim Social! Instagram requires that you add your personal account in order to add your professional account. We can not access any information on this personal account.
1. From the left sidebar menu, Navigate to > Social Networks > Accounts
2. Click on the Add Social network button
3. From the drop-down select Instagram Business
4. You will be prompted to log in to Facebook to connect the Instagram account. Simply follow the prompts and make sure the correct Instagram account is selected.
6. Your Instagram Pages can be accessed by clicking on your Instagram account or by clicking on the dropdown arrow.
7. You can disable specific pages that are not relevant on the toggle to the right of the page, or remove the page from Denim Social by clicking the trash can icon.
The same Facebook account must connect the Facebook Business page and Professional-Business Instagram. Otherwise posts will fail to publish to the Instagram.
Now you Instagram should be connected and have an active status.
Why is my Instagram account Inactive?
If your account has an inactive status, you may need to double check that it is a professional business account and that it is connected to your Facebook business page.
You have a Creator account -To ensure that you do not have a Creator type of account, from your Instagram profile on your phone, navigate to "Settings", "Account", then "Switch Account Type". If your options are either "Switch to a personal account" or Switch to a business account", then you have a Creator account and will need to click on "Switch to a business account".
2. It isn't connected to your Facebook page or it's connected to the wrong Facebook page - To make sure your IG account is connected to your Facebook business page, from the Instagram app on your phone, click "Edit Profile". In the Public business information, you should see your Facebook business page next to the "Page" field. If not, click there to connect your Facebook business page.
