Creating an Advertising User Group

Before you can launch a campaign, you must create at least one user group to advertise on behalf of.

Updated over a week ago

Campaigns in the Denim platform are launched on behalf of a Group of Users. Groups can be created, updated, or removed at any time. When a campaign is launched on behalf of a group, it launches on behalf of all Users who are members of the Group at the time of launch. Users can be members of multiple Groups simultaneously, as well. You may consider creating Groups based on geography, climate, production status or tier, by the products each representative offers, or something entirely different. Just remember: campaigns are launched on behalf of a Group of Users, so make sure to keep your Groups tightly intertwined with your campaigns.

In order to launch your first campaign, make sure you have created at least one group in your Denim platform account.

To create your first Group, follow the instructions below:

1.

From the home page, click the "Users" icon on the left hand side. Once at the Users page, select the "Groups" tab. Here you will see any existing groups. Click the blue "Create Group" button. Give your new Group a name; something indicative of the Users you will associate with the Group.

2.

After the Group has been created and named, click the Users tab in the upper left-hand corner. This will take you to the Users list. Check the box to the left of each User you'd like to add to the Group you just created. After you've selected each User to add to the Group, click the blue "Add to Group" button and select the Group you just created. This will add them to the Group you've created.

Repeat this process for additional Groups you would like to create, as well.

Pro tip: you can also add and remove Users from Groups from within a User Profile. Simply select the user's name in the User List to access their profile.

Once you are looking at their profile page, scroll down until you see their Groups. This will list all the groups they are currently in.

Here you can search and add them to an existing group (+), or remove them from a group they are currently in (X).

Best Practices for Users & Groups

  • When creating Groups in the Denim platform, group Users together by their commonalities. Common examples would be: geographical, products offered, product launch, or production status. There are an infinite number of ways to group your Users together, but keep in mind that a campaign is launched on behalf of a Group of Users.

  • Keep User profile information up to date.

  • Make sure to change Ad Destination URL's if click-through traffic has changed from one campaign to another.

  • Use UTM codes in Ad Destination URLs for tracking purposes

  • Test different geofences by changing the Ad Target Radius and/or zip code
