Instructions and guidelines for @mentioning accounts within the Denim Social Compose flow.

Within Denim Social you have the ability to tag accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. The article below will outline how to tag accounts, as well as the guidelines and limitations around it.

Before you begin, ensure your Social Network is active; if not, you will need to refresh your account before you Tag a business page.

The first step in @mentioning an account is to open the Compose feature within Denim Social.

Tagging Accounts on Facebook

  • Navigate to the @ Mentions button

  • Select the Facebook network

  • Search for the Facebook Business Page you would like to mention, and hit Tag

  • It's important to note that you can only tag a Facebook Business Page using this feature - you won't be able to tag personal Facebook pages.

Tagging Accounts on Twitter

  • Navigate to the @ Mentions button

  • Select the Twitter network

  • Search for the Twitter account you would like to mention, and hit Tag

  • On Twitter, you can search for a user by either the desired users Display Name or the Twitter handle.

Tagging Accounts on LinkedIn

  • Navigate to the @ Mentions button

  • Select the LinkedIn network

  • Search for the LinkedIn Business Page you would like to mention, and hit Tag

  • It's important to note that you can only tag a LinkedIn Business Page using this feature - you won't be able to tag personal LinkedIn pages.

Tagging Accounts on Instagram

  • In order to tag an Instagram account you will need to type in the desired handle manually within the Compose text box by typing @______ and publishing the post to an Instagram page.

  • We recommend navigating to the Instagram page you want to tag, and then copy and pasting the handle directly into the platform to ensure we're tagging the correct account.

  • Again, it's important to note that you will only be able to tag Instagram Business accounts within the platform.

Additional Information and Guidelines

  • The social network of the account you're tagging must also be the only social platform to which you are publishing the post. For example, If you are @ mentioning a Facebook Page, your post should only be published on Facebook. If you are @ mentioning a LinkedIn page, you should only publish that post to a LinkedIn page.

  • Depending on your permission level within Denim Social you may have the ability to change the user you are searching as - as shown in the video below. The account you are searching as will not have an affect on your search results - feel free to disregard it.
